Collaboration is amazing!
The center of my cooperative teaching philosophy is collaboration, because I believe it aids in helping to treat the whole child. Also, with collaboration comes an extremely efficient communication system between the professional service providers. I realize that the physical education teacher and/or
general education teacher is the primary teacher depending on the class, and it
is important to know all disciplinary styles specifically to each teacher for
when I have a student(s) in his/her class. My teaching philosophy
is one where I not only foster motor development to children, but also
emphasize and encourage cooperation and communication through physical
games/fitness. Activities that aid in the social development for students
are important, because it allows students to grow and reinforces
responsibility/respect lessons taught by the school. Lastly, my
cooperative philosophy extends to classroom teachers, and I can focus on
subject integration (math, language arts, science, etc) with physical education.
